Team Dani & Jack 

Para-equestrian sport is where everything I value comes together. It allows me to challenge myself, work as part of a team, apply my academic knowledge, and honour the welfare of my horse. Every ride with my co-athlete Jack is an opportunity to learn, grow, and perform at our best.

I am a Grade 3 para-equestrian athlete on the Equestrian Australia National High Performance Squad, competing with my 12-year-old warmblood, Jack Sparrow. Together, we train, compete, and hang out in the sun, rain and wind. Our ultimate goal is to be selected for the Australian team at an international competition. In November 2025 we will compete at the National Para-Dressage Championships in Victoria.

Sport has always been central to who I am. After experiencing a spinal cord injury at 20, I was determined to reclaim my life. Through rehabilitation, study, and perseverance, I graduated a Bachelor of Applied Science (Exercise Science and Health Promotion) with distinction, I launched a career in corporate health, founded my own company, and became a 40 Under 40 WA business leader. Returning to equestrian sport at 40, I rediscovered the excitement of competition and the reward of pushing my limits.

Para-equestrian sport beautifully aligns with my personal and professional values. Here I can combine my love of the outdoors, the horse, athletic challenge, animal welfare, continuous learning and teamwork. Jack and I continue to grow together as athletes, driven by dedication, consistency, and partnership.
